Hello everyone, I would like to ask what the outer diameter of DN32 steel pipes is. Some say it’s DN38, while others say it’s DN42.4. Also, if we’re talking only about DN32 steel pipes, what is the standard wall thickness – 2.75 or 3.5? I appreciate any guidance you can provide
In the HG20592 standard, flanged pipe fittings are divided into Series A and Series B. For Series A, the outer diameter of pipes with DN32 designation is φ42.4 (not DN42.4); for Series B, it is φ38. Thus, both types are available. As for the wall thickness, it needs to be calculated first, after which the appropriate wall thickness class SCH is selected. However, pipes with a wall thickness of 2.75 are likely hard to find; usually, the values are rounded to whole numbers such as 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, etc. Therefore, there are no standard wall thicknesses specified.
Well, the outer diameter of DN32 pipes is available in both imperial and metric units; as for the exact wall thickness, it’s hard to say since different pipe standards result in varying wall thicknesses
The commonly used ones are ∮38×3 or 3. For 5, I don’t know the operating conditions of the owner, so this is all I can say.
