We use over a dozen single-screw pumps, all of them from NCH; they are just expensive.
There are some. The single-screw pump is a new type of pump that operates on the principle of rotary gear-type positive displacement. Its main working components are the eccentric screw (rotor) and the fixed sleeve (stator). Due to the special geometric shape of this component, separate sealing chambers are formed; the medium flows uniformly in an axial direction, resulting in low internal flow velocities, constant volume, and stable pressure, thereby preventing the formation of vortices or turbulence. The output pressure of each stage of the pump is 0.6 Mpa, with a head of 60 m (for clean water); the self-priming height is generally above 3 m. Since the stator is made of various elastic materials, this type of pump possesses capabilities for transporting high-viscosity fluids, as well as media containing hard suspended particles or fibers, which are advantages that ordinary pumps do not have. Its flow rate is proportional to the rotational speed. Rotation can be achieved through direct drive using a coupling, or by using speed-regulating motors, V-belts, gearboxes, and other devices for speed control. This pump features few components, a compact structure, small size, and easy maintenance. The rotor and stator are the vulnerable parts of this pump; their simple design facilitates installation and removal. It has strong adaptability to different media, provides a stable flow rate, minimal pressure fluctuations, and high self-priming capacity. The operating temperature can reach 120°C; it can be customized for transporting high-temperature media between 120°C and 350°C. It is widely used in industrial sectors such as food, metallurgy, papermaking, printing and dyeing, chemicals, fertilizers, and pharmaceuticals.
