Purpose and Summary of the position:
Summary: This role involves providing technical support for plant operations and maintenance related to corrosion and metallurgy issues, thereby ensuring the safety, reliability, and integrity of the plant. It also includes supporting the management of special equipment in compliance with local regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and analyze needs, and carry out the plant’s maintenance inspection programs.
2. Analyze, recommend, coordinate, and implement preventive or corrective actions to enhance the plant’s safety, reliability, and integrity.
3. Provide expertise in material selection and quality assurance, as well as conduct fitness-for-service assessments.
4. Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
5. Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
6. Build and maintain a strong network of knowledge regarding corrosion issues through regular interactions with vendors, manufacturers, and specialists inside and outside the company.
7. Develop and implement regular inspection plans.
8. Manage all special equipment in accordance with local regulations.
9. Provide support for daily maintenance and troubleshooting of static facilities and piping systems.
10. Deliver technical training to technicians, review root cause analyses, and conduct daily maintenance audits.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1. In-depth knowledge and skills in failure mechanics, corrosion, material selection, and metallurgical issues.
2. Ability to identify, organize, and prioritize data and tasks to ensure effective inspection programs and achieve desired results.
3. Sharp observation skills to detect early signs of failure, along with a thorough understanding of the functions of each piece of equipment in the plant.
4. Familiarity with design and repair standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, BS, etc., as well as industry best practices.
5. Technical knowledge and practical experience in welding techniques and non-destructive testing methods and their applications.
6. Ability to lead or facilitate team efforts in data analysis, conducting root cause analyses, making recommendations, and coordinating tasks until completion.
7. Interpersonal and negotiation skills, enabling the ability to influence others and build trust.
8. Familiarity with regulations and standards related to special equipment management.
9. Basic English communication skills, both verbal and written.
**Mechanical Equipment Engineer**
Purpose and Summary of the position: (5–8 key responsibilities)
Summary: This role involves providing equipment maintenance support to improve the plant’s safety, profitability, and reliability. This is achieved through implementing reliability improvement programs, planned maintenance, preventive, and predictive maintenance strategies, as well as offering technical expertise for troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
1. Drive the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to enhance the plant’s reliability, safety, and profitability. This includes identifying needs, ensuring compliance, analyzing data from these programs, and taking corrective actions.
2. Support daily maintenance needs, particularly in terms of troubleshooting machinery issues.
3. Study recurring machinery failures and suggest/implement solutions.
4. Lead the shutdown maintenance team, which is responsible for planning and coordinating equipment repairs to ensure they are carried out properly, safely, within budget, and on schedule.
5. Coordinate emergency maintenance efforts, utilizing best practices and available resources to meet the plant’s needs.
6. Provide guidance, technical assistance, and mentorship to maintenance technicians regarding key maintenance procedures or during equipment overhauls/maintenance.
7. Support the company’s goals related to safety, health, and environmental protection, including participation in Process Hazard Analyses.
8. Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects as required by business needs.
9. Prepare mechanical maintenance budgets, including those for equipment overhauls, and oversee their execution.
10. Develop and implement maintenance and turnaround schedules.
