I’d like to ask the experts here. . For the fire protection regulations applicable to tank areas in the coating industry, should the building codes be used or the petrochemical codes? How was this decided in the first place? The project I’m working on now requires the use of building codes at times and petrochemical industry regulations at other times; it’s really confusing.
Coatings belong to the field of fine chemicals and are convenient to use in construction regulations. Fine chemicals are not covered by the scope of application of the chemical industry regulations; if those regulations are to be applied, the requirements become too stringent.
