Hello everyone. We are now introducing two new 40.80 urea production projects, and for the level measurement in the urea synthesis tower and the CO2 stripping tower, double-flange level gauges have been chosen. Has anyone used such gauges in their installations before? How is it working? Does the rinse water need to stay on? How many years will it last roughly? What is the material? I knew that WeiHua uses it, and it works pretty well. Let’s discuss this together, thank you :)
Are double-flange level gauges used in synthesis towers and stripping towers? I’m hearing about this for the first time. How effective is it? And where exactly is it located? There should also not be heating pipes continuously at the flange connection. There are also special requirements for the material, right?

High requirements are placed on the material – at least tantalum is needed – and the membrane may need to be replaced every 2 years as it corrodes quite severely. Another requirement is the presence of flushing water; an insert-type design is preferred. However, it seems that the urea synthesis tower doesn’t have flushing water. It is said that the temperature is 180 degrees, so crystallization does not occur. Jinjiang Chemical now also uses it, but it’s not clear whether it is used in manufacturing processes. I hope someone who works at Jinjiang Chemical or Weihe Chemical can provide more detailed information on this. It is said that Cangzhou Dahuahua also used it in the past. Continue to follow up
