Firstly, I wonder if the quick-shutoff valves used for gas pipelines (such as coal gas or natural gas) before they enter the boiler are pneumatic quick-shutoff valves? Can an electric quick-close valve be used? If not, what is the reason? 2: Also, which one has a faster response time, the electric quick-close valve or the pneumatic one? 3: Should the bleed pipe before the quick shut-off valve in front of the furnace be equipped with a solenoid valve or a pneumatic ball valve, etc.?

I can only discuss this in the context of our company’s usage. 1. Since we use instrument air for all our other valves, adding an electric one in front of the heating furnace – wouldn’t that be creating trouble? 2. Theoretically, electric drives are definitely faster than pneumatic ones, but is such high speed really necessary? A medium is a gas that is compressible; no matter how fast it moves, it still exerts pressure on the downstream area. But liquid media is different, right? 3. Solenoid valves are generally used to control the on/off of instrument air, which in turn controls the operation of pneumatic valves. Of course, our company uses manual ball valves, but I have seen pneumatic ball valves in use (those equipped with solenoid valves). The sealing requirement mandates the use of ball valves; solenoid valves are rarely used in fuel gas process pipelines. If anyone has used them, please share your experience! For your reference!
We use pneumatic valves; in my opinion, pneumatic valves are more stable than electric ones, and are less affected by fluctuations in power supply!
It seems that pneumatic valves are faster; for intake pipes, the time required is around 50-100 seconds. Valves of the same diameter equipped with cylinders will definitely operate faster than electric valves. Pneumatic valves can achieve fast opening and closing within 1-3 seconds, while electric valves require more time to do the same, at a higher cost. In terms of failure rates, even if pneumatic valves use domestically produced cylinders, they may not have a higher failure rate compared to electric valves that use high-quality imported components. I can’t answer whether one is faster or slower, but our company also uses pneumatic valves for its projects, and the type used is a gate valve, a pneumatic gate valve

Pneumatic operation is safer than manual operation; in the event of a power outage, there is no buffering effect, whereas with air supply interruption, the presence of a buffer tank still allows the valve to function; 2. The speed isn’t fixed; it depends on the design and the usage scenario ; 3. If there is only one quick-cut valve, it is recommended to use a pneumatic one.
