What is the meaning of the model number of a mechanical seal? Thank you
There are standards for formulating product models for mechanical seals, but some custom-made mechanical seals have models developed by the manufacturers themselves, and only those manufacturers know what they mean.
For mechanical seals used in pumps, reference can be made to the national standard GB6556: there are single-end unbalanced U-type seals, balanced B-type seals, double-end unbalanced UU-type seals, double-end balanced BB-type seals, and seals with one end balanced and the other unbalanced, namely UB-type seals. The specific model numbers can be found in this standard; however, some manufacturers develop their own model codes, in which case it is necessary to ask the manufacturer directly. GB/T24319 is the standard for mechanical seals used in reactors, and it also specifies the rules for naming such seals.
