How to transition from single overflow to dual overflow? What type to use
The trays are offset by 90 degrees, and the downcomer of the single overflow type is connected to the central opening at the bottom of the liquid receiving tray via a pipe, leading to the intermediate liquid receiving tray of the double overflow type. Alternatively, if the liquid receiving tray does not have openings, the liquid overflows directly from the single-overflow tray and can be distributed evenly on both sides of the dual-overflow design; however, the distribution of liquid in this dual-overflow layer will be uneven, while the layer below it will have a proper distribution.
