Internal leakage in safety valves is generally determined by the temperature of the pipeline downstream of the valve. I’m not sure what type of medium environment your safety valve is operating in. Generally speaking, if the medium is a lightweight material such as light hydrocarbons, the safety valve that prevents internal leakage functions as a throttling element; the temperature behind the valve is significantly lower than that in front of the valve as well as the ambient temperature, and frosting may even occur ; If the temperature of the medium is significantly higher than the ambient temperature, then a sign of internal leakage in the safety valve is that the temperature behind the valve will also be higher than the ambient temperature. In short, the temperature behind the valve is a good way to determine whether there is an internal leak. It’s just my personal opinion; feel free to share your thoughts or criticism~
There’s already internal leakage; what is the diameter of your vent pipeline? Is the pipeline very thick?
It is recommended to install a DN20 leak detection drain line after the safety valve; when necessary, close the downstream valve and open the small drain to detect leaks, except in the case of highly toxic gases.
