Our facility is involved in the hydroprocessing of gasoline and diesel, as well as hydrogen production from dry gas; it constitutes one workshop. We are currently facing the issue of job allocation – how do you guys carry out such allocation? Some units have separate internal and external operations for hydrorefining ; Operation of hydrogen production plants – internal and external operations ; Some also divide the roles into hydrogenation, hydrogen production, and compressor positions; I’m not sure which one is better. Is there a better way to classify these roles? I would appreciate your advice!
Firstly, the main operators include the reaction main operator, distillation main operator, heating furnace main operator, compressor main operator, and PSA main operator. The auxiliary operators are: reaction auxiliary operator, distillation auxiliary operator, compressor auxiliary operator, heating furnace auxiliary operator, conversion auxiliary operator, desulfurization auxiliary operator, and chemical water auxiliary operator
With so many positions, how many people will that require?

Each of our classes is only allowed to have 9 people! So frustrated
We have only one operator for hydrogenation tasks inside the plant and three outside; one operator for hydrogen production inside the plant and three outside. The production capacity is 10,000 cubic meters of hydrogen per day, with 600,000 units of hydrogenation capacity

Our workshop operators include chief operators for reactions (reaction furnaces, new hydrogen generators, hydrogen circulation machines), chief distillation operators (distillation furnaces), conversion chief operators, conversion assistant operators, reaction field operators, distillation field operators, heating furnace field operators, compressor field operators, and conversion field operators. Additionally, I have a water treatment system installed, so the hydrogen production compressor and the hydrogen addition process are separated; the unit used for hydrogen production is called the chemical water compressor station. Some companies employ PSA operators, which is necessary for large-scale hydrogen production; however, this is not really needed either, as with fully automatic systems, any issues can be dealt with by the workshop staff. If your company does not have water treatment, the presses can be combined. That makes exactly 9 people. At Dongming Petrochemical, only two people are involved in hydrogen production – one main operator and one assistant operator – so 8-10 people will suffice. I think for hydrogen production, especially on a small scale, two operators aren’t necessary; it’s better to hire an additional operator.
We also have a hydrogen production facility with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters and a hydrogenation complex with a capacity of 800,000 tons, and each shift requires eight workers. One chief operator for hydrogen production, one chief operator for reaction, and one chief operator for distillation – a total of three chief operators. The four external operations are respectively responsible for hydrogen control, compressors, reactions, distillation, as well as the air compressor station and nitrogen generator. There is also a capable team leader. It has been in operation for one and a half years – **most minor issues have arisen and were resolved promptly, with no problems resulting from staffing arrangements.
