Hello everyone. I am currently designing a reactive distillation column in which the reaction takes place without the use of a catalyst. The feed enters the column from its middle section. How can I determine the distillation section, the stripping section, and the reaction section of this column? Or is every part of the tower that meets the reaction conditions considered a reaction section? If so, how can the distillation section and the stripping section be distinguished? Will the reaction affect the vapor-liquid equilibrium? Please tell me, thank you
Generally, above the feed to the distillation column is the distillation section, and below the feed is the retraction section

Chemical reactions occur during reactive distillation, and the impact of these reactions must be taken into account when performing phase equilibrium calculations. The calculation process is complex, so it is recommended to use software for such calculations.
In other words, the entire tower is a reaction section; above the feed position lies the distillation section, and below the feed position lies the stripping section. Can it be understood in this way?
It is correct that the distillation section and the stripping section are divided by the location of the feed plate. However, in the case of reactive distillation, the presence of a reaction affects the material balance equations and energy balance equations when calculating the equilibrium stages; therefore, the conventional distillation calculation methods discussed in chemical engineering principles are no longer applicable – one should turn to separation engineering.
Starting from the feed point, the section below is the stripping section, and the section above is the distillation section.
It depends on what your reaction is inside the tower, and what the principle behind that reaction is
