The inlet and outlet valves for the lean and rich liquid pumps used in our company’s wet flue gas desulfurization system are both stainless steel disc valves. They have been in use for over three years now, and now there is a problem with them not closing properly; this is due to wear of the seal rings on these disc valves. Replacing the valves with new ones would be very costly, while replacing the seal rings would suffice. We have tried contacting the manufacturer, but they were unable to fix the issue. I would like to ask those who are experienced in this field: does anyone know where such valves can be manufactured or purchased? The specifications are DTD371F--16P DN400 PN1.6MPa and DTD371F--16P DN350 PN1.6MPa; they are wafer-type valves, and the material of the seal rings is PTFE.
Buy PTFE sheets or rods to fabricate it by yourself. It is best to replace it with a butterfly valve with a rigid seal.
Generally, only original manufacturers can provide parts that fit this device. If one decides to fabricate the parts themselves, it is necessary to have a specialized manufacturer of butterfly valves carry out measurements and designs; this approach ensures higher precision, but the cost may be higher as well.
The disc valves used in our company are manufactured by the Lango brand. The distributor said that each batch has different specifications, making it difficult to find compatible parts, and suggested that we purchase new valves; they simply refuse to provide support. I think it’s because the profits for the distributor are too low, which is why they’re unwilling to offer assistance. A new valve costs over 10,000 yuan, while a sealing ring costs only a few hundred yuan at most.
