Is there a ethylene carbon-9 feed to the riser reactor? How effective is it?
It is not suitable as a feedstock for cracking; branch cleavage produces gas and benzene. It is necessary to consider whether the benzene content in gasoline is excessive. Of course, it is not suitable as a feedstock for catalytic cracking, but what about adding it in small amounts? Considering its price is much lower than that of gasoline, is it cost-effective? What is the impact of blending on gasoline quality?
Since catalytic cracking is a very complex process, the effects of adding small amounts of such compounds will need to be tested to determine whether hydrogenation is feasible. For saturated side-chain alkenes, their octane rating should be acceptable (although it’s possible that the boiling range might be on the high side?)
