Are there any **standards for determining the scale of a DCS?
There is hierarchical positioning, such as plant level and workshop level……
Give myself an answer – I spent a long time looking for it, and the answers I found were rather vague. This one seems okay. Small DCS systems typically have around 100–1000 I/O points; medium-sized DCS systems have around 1000–several thousand I/O points at the device level. Large DCS systems usually consist of multiple DCS systems throughout the plant, which are connected via a network to form a single system at the plant level. In the case of large ethylene plants, the number of I/O points can reach 30,000, or there can be 3,000 control loops – and although it’s just one facility, it still falls under the category of large DCS systems.
