To all relevant organizations: In accordance with the latest development plans for the fertilizer industry and energy technology during the 12th Five-Year Plan period issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Energy Bureau, as well as the requirements set out in the NDRC’s Document No. 2011(635) regarding the orderly development of the coal chemical industry, our institute, together with the National Committee for the Development of New Gasification Technologies, has, after thorough preparations and research, decided to hold the “2012 National Conference on New Water-Coal Slurry Gasification Technologies” from April 16 to 19, 2012, at the Konggang Hotel in Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province. In recent years, China has achieved a number of significant technological breakthroughs in the fields of nitrogen fertilizers, methanol, and modern coal chemical industry. The most crucial core technology in this sector is coal gasification technology. In addition to adopting GE’s technology for the water-coal slurry gasification process, China has also developed its own technologies, such as the large-scale multi-nozzle opposed water-coal slurry gasification technology jointly developed by East China University of Science and Technology and Yankuang Group Co., Ltd., as well as the water-cooled wall water-coal slurry gasifier developed through collaboration among Tsinghua University, Shanxi Yangmei Fengxi Fertilizer (Group) Co., Ltd., and Beijing Yingde Qingda Technology Co., Ltd. These domestically developed technologies have been adopted by various enterprises for industrial use or in demonstration facilities. Additionally, there is the E-Gas two-stage feed water-coal slurry gasification technology, which features low oxygen consumption, the ability to process lower-grade bituminous coal, and no generation of black water or ash water. All these technologies provide strong technical support for adjusting the traditional raw material structure used in nitrogen fertilizer and methanol production, as well as for the development of modern coal chemical plants. To share and promote the achievements of new coal gasification projects, emphasis is placed on exchanging experiences in the research and development of water-coal slurry gasification technology, engineering design, and the long-term stable operation of production facilities over recent years. Relevant engineering companies that have developed technologies for water-coal slurry gasification and are involved in the design of such gasification processes (such as Tianchen Engineering Company, Hualu Engineering Company, Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., Sinopec **, Sinopec Nanjing Engineering Company, Huisheng Engineering (China) Co., Ltd., etc.), enterprise users, as well as manufacturers of equipment used in gasification units – including burners, grinders, pumps, valves, refractory materials for gasifiers, automation systems, temperature measurement systems, air separation and water treatment systems – plus organizations engaged in the development and application of high-concentration water-coal slurry technologies for processing coal with high ash fusion points and organic wastewater, as well as for the gasification of low-rank coal and lignite – are requested to prepare technical reports and summary materials.
