Recently, I have been working on the registration of hazardous chemicals. Since the SDS is to be prepared in accordance with SDS requirements and combined with some GHS standards, many problems were encountered during this process, which left me with many thoughts. I believe it might be due to the excessive number of standards, resulting in inconsistent regulations across different standards. In my opinion, there is no shortage of standards in China; then why force oneself to update things according to one standard after another? If updates are necessary, they should be done thoroughly, so as not to put one in a difficult situation lacking determination, strength, and execution capability, leading to chaos. I would dare to say that even after two more cycles of hazardous chemical registration, things will not improve and the desired goals will not be achieved; instead, the situation will only become more chaotic. Why do I say this? Simply put, after all these years of registration, there is still inconsistency regarding packaging categories and packaging labels – things like packaging category 7 for flammable liquids, or packaging category 053, etc. I’ve searched for a long time but couldn’t find any information on this. For some chemicals, it’s unclear why they have been classified in a certain category, and there is no basis for it. If there are experimental results, why can’t they be found within the relevant categories specified in the SDS? It’s all very confusing...

That’s indeed the case; standard specifications are updated too quickly, and the accompanying documents from higher authorities fail to keep up with this pace. Due to varying requirements in different regions, each registration center has set up service agencies that will handle the registration on your behalf for a fee (which is not high, usually around 3,000 yuan).
