This post was last edited by qugd on 2012-3-20 07:31. 305 refers to the unit or device number; AT stands for analyzer, and the signal is used for transmission purposes to the DCS or data acquisition unit (as opposed to alarm A, recording R, indication I, etc.). 0101 denotes the 0101st analyzer within that unit or device. Together, these three elements constitute what is known as the tag number. If there are several identical analyzers with the same function installed at the same analysis points for several identical devices or apparatuses within the same unit, then tag numbers such as 305-AT-0101A/B/C/D/…… are used to distinguish each analyzer.
