Is a spare required for the sieve-plate ammonia distillation tower?

The theoretical requirement for a sieve-plate ammonia distillation tower is 3 units; is a spare needed? If the theory requires 4 units, is a spare needed? Do we not need any backups either?
For the sake of your production, regardless of how many are available in theory, it’s best to have one as a spare. Since the ammonia vaporization tower develops scale rapidly and its cycle is too short (usually around 30-40 days), you can’t keep reducing the operating volume during cleaning and maintenance, right?
For stable production, a backup distillation tower should be available, regardless of the type.
