In our company, equipment maintenance is always carried out in a rush; not once has it been done according to plan. As a result, various problems arise after each maintenance session, which is really frustrating. How about you guys? Is this a problem there as well?
Before carrying out maintenance on the equipment, it is necessary to identify all the items that require repair as well as the necessary technical measures, and to develop a maintenance plan. The maintenance should be carried out in accordance with this plan; no maintenance tasks should be overlooked in an attempt to speed things up, so as to lay a solid foundation for the equipment’s long-term operation.
Possible reasons: 1. There are issues with regular maintenance and management. 2. There are issues with the installation; the equipment and piping are of substandard quality. 3. The crude oil is not suitable. 4. The design has defects; this is quite likely, as there are many irresponsible design firms these days. As designed, ordinary domestic units can operate continuously for 4 years, while in foreign countries there are units that do not require maintenance for up to 10 years. As the device ages, maintenance will become more frequent. If they are old devices, it might be acceptable, but generally, even after maintenance, they can still operate stably.
Equipment maintenance is generally carried out in a planned manner; preliminary preparations must be done and the details of the maintenance work arranged before it can be undertaken. The processing of high-sulfur and high-acid crude oils usually requires maintenance every three years.
Equipment maintenance is based on a thorough understanding of the equipment’s operating conditions on a regular basis, along with a detailed maintenance plan and the preparation of necessary personnel and spare parts. Once the maintenance plan and technical solutions are approved, they must be strictly followed, without any arbitrary decisions.
Before shutting down for maintenance, the maintenance tasks should be listed in detail, and then selected based on the available workforce and the urgency of each task, so as to develop an overall plan for carrying out the work.
