I would like to ask the experts: In a packed tower filled with solid adsorbents, where the liquid enters at the bottom and exits at the top after undergoing treatment, is it necessary to distribute the liquid entering from the bottom of the tower? Does this packed column require stratification? Is a liquid distributor needed for each layer?
The feed at the bottom of the tower has lower requirements regarding distribution. A distributor needs to be installed at the feed inlet.
Hello, thank you! I would like to ask: is the method for selecting a liquid distributor for the liquid feed at the bottom of the tower the same as that used for the liquid feed at the top of the tower? What is usually mentioned in books is the liquid distributor at the top of the tower; I’m not sure how to choose one for the bottom of the tower I’m a bit dizzy, hehe
Although I’ve never encountered it, I don’t think it’s necessary; since the liquid flows from bottom to top without any phase change and the process is continuous, the Earth itself is the best liquid distributor
1. I’m a bit confused – do you use pressure difference from equipment or pumps to lift it? 2. Or vaporize under reduced pressure to become a gas? If it’s the second type, it should still be available, right? A distributor-type steam rising cap
Hello, it is a liquid that enters from the bottom of a packed bed filled with solid adsorbents; the solid adsorbents absorb one of the components in the liquid, and the liquid exits the tower. The liquid enters the tower due to the pressure acting from ahead. I was wondering if it’s necessary?
Personally, I think for this case you just need to use a support ring at the bottom for support, and then place a ceiling panel on top (1: it can serve as both a support element and an adhesive agent; 2: it can also be used for distribution purposes – for reference only). This method is widely applicable in many situations
The diameter of the container also needs to be taken into consideration; if the diameter is too large, then a liquid distribution system for the incoming fluid must be considered, at least in order to reduce local packing losses.
Hello, thank you. Is this the actual form used in production? Are there any requirements for the tower diameter and height? Can I use both the large and small towers? :)
