Eccentric reducers are installed on-site; some of the equipment connections have their flat surfaces at the top, while others have them at the bottom. Is there any rule regarding this? Eccentric reducers are mainly used in the inlet pipes of pumps, with the purpose of preventing cavitation in the pump and ensuring that there are no air pockets in the pump’s inlet pipes. When there is a diameter change at the pump inlet, an eccentric reducer should be used. That is, when the elbow is directed downward, the top of the reducer should be level ; When there is no straight pipe section above the elbow, keep the bottom of the reducer level. If there is a straight section between the elbow and the reducer, a reducer with a flat top should still be used, and a drain port should be added at the lowest point. If an eccentric reducer is used for liquid materials, it should be installed with a flat bottom. If it is a gas material, the installation should be level at the top. To avoid the formation of liquid or gas pockets, in simple terms, a top-level flat design should be used for transporting mixtures of gas and liquid, while a bottom-level flat design is suitable for transporting mixtures of solid and liquid
