What is the effect of sound insulation on cars?

I bought a Haima car just before the New Year, and its sound insulation is terrible – there’s a lot of noise from the tires, wind, and the engine. I want to improve the sound insulation throughout the vehicle, but the cost for such an improvement is very high. I’m also not sure how effective it will be, and I’m afraid of wasting money. Has anyone ever done work on improving car noise insulation? How effective is it?
