Are the cables from the distribution cabinet to the motor all 4-core? One of the cores is connected to the PE wire of the distribution cabinet, right?
The power cable leading to the motor is usually 4-core: three power wires and one ground wire;
Check the grounding condition of the transformer’s center point. For three-wire motors, grounding is done on-site; for four-wire motors, one of the wires serves as the neutral wire, and this is used for on-site neutral grounding. In other cases, one of the wires is connected to the ground wire in the distribution cabinet
Are the distribution transformers used in factories these days all with their neutral points directly grounded? In my design, the neutral point of the transformer is connected directly to ground. When connecting the motor, should a 4-core cable be used? One of the cores is connected to the motor’s grounding terminal, while the core on the distribution cabinet side is connected to the PEN bar. Right? Also, I combine N and PE into one bus in the distribution cabinet, which is the copper bar that comes from the transformer’s neutral point. Is this okay?
It depends on the grounding configuration of your power distribution system. If the motor is connected in a triangular configuration, a 4-core cable is generally used; in a TN system, a 4-core cable is appropriate, while in a TT system, a 3-core cable is sufficient. The exposed parts of the motor at the installation site should be directly grounded
