Jiangsu Yangheng Chemical Co., Ltd. has begun the furnace drying process for its facility capable of producing acid from 300,000 tons of liquid sulfur. This is part of the relocation project of the Wuxi Sulfuric Acid Plant; the facility is located in the Fine Chemicals Park in Rugao Port Area, Nantong. The total investment in this project is 350 million yuan, and its production capacity includes 300,000 tons of acid produced from liquid sulfur (including 100,000 tons of 20% nicotinic acid), 20,000 tons of sulfamic acid, 10,000 tons of liquid sulfur trioxide, and 10,000 tons of 65% nicotinic acid.

With so much acid flowing downstream, can the acid from the smelting plants in Jiujiang and Tongling in Jiangxi upstream withstand it?
The 300,000-ton per year liquid sulfur-based acid production project of Jiangsu Yangheng Chemical Co., Ltd. began construction in October 2009 and was largely completed by May 2011, but it has been delayed due to issues related to feeding waste heat into the power grid. To cope with low-cost smelting acid, the plant focused on producing fuming sulfuric acid and did not install low-temperature waste heat recovery systems.
On June 25, the price of sulfuric acid at Jiangsu Yangheng Chemical Company was 450 yuan per ton for 98% pure acid; the company produces sulfuric acid via sulfur processing, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons.
I heard that Yangheng was shut down for a while after testing, is it running again now?
