Recent reports indicate that as the sales of new energy vehicles and hybrid vehicles continue to grow in Tianjin, CNPC intends to establish 50 LNG refueling stations there to facilitate fueling for users of such vehicles; the first 4 of these stations will be located in Beichen District. The new fuel used in new energy vehicles is LNG, namely liquefied natural gas. It is produced by compressing and cooling natural gas to liquefy it at low temperatures. It is colorless, odorless, non-toxic, and non-corrosive; its volume is about 1/600 of that of the same amount of gaseous natural gas. It has advantages such as a high calorific value, long operating time, high storage efficiency, and ease of transportation. As a high-quality fuel for vehicles and ships, liquefied natural gas offers advantages in terms of cost efficiency, environmental friendliness, and safety compared to gasoline and diesel. The large transport vehicles produced by Foton Motor use liquefied natural gas as fuel. Tianjin Keerzheng Auto Trade Company, which is the main distributor of such vehicles in Tianjin, actively promotes these energy-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles, with annual sales amounts to around 400 units. To meet the growing needs of more users, CNPC has planned 50 LNG refueling stations in Tianjin as part of its overall urban planning. Due to its favorable transportation location in Beichen District, with the Central Ring Road and Outer Ring Road passing through it, it serves as a hub for large transportation fleets and auto trade companies; the first 4 CNG filling stations were established in Beichen District. With the widespread adoption of new energy vehicles, it can effectively drive the transformation and upgrading of the transportation industry.
