What effects and consequences can the presence of oil or water in the cyclic hydrogen compressor have?
If water is present, it will damage the cylinder, and the compressor will be ruined very quickly； If oil is involved, the consequences will be severe – it can lead to an explosion directly
Liquids cannot be compressed; forcing them to do so will only cause damage to the compressor cylinders. The oil temperature rises, leading to vaporization and violent expansion that results in an explosion – the consequences are extremely severe
Taking a reciprocating engine as an example, if there is water present, negative pressure exists during the suction process, which may cause the water to change from a liquid state to a gas state; during the compression process, it changes back from a gas state to a liquid state. This results in rapid and frequent changes in the volume of gas inside the cylinder, leading to stress on various components and causing damage to those parts that are subject to such forces； When there is oil in the cylinder, the first thing to be damaged is the valve surge. Then the working capacity of the piston rings declines, leading to a vicious cycle. It is permissible for hydrogen to contain oil; currently, most hydrogen compressors still use oil lubrication, so an explosion will not occur.
