162AG1019-1200-D3F-R5-GC2: What do these pipeline markings mean? I know that 162 represents the main item number, AG stands for gaseous ammonia, and 1019 is the pipeline sequence number. What do D3F, R5, and GC2 represent? The design institute is Tianchen Engineering Company
D3F, pipe grade； R5 for corrosion protection, thermal insulation, moisture prevention, and similar purposes ； GC2 pipeline pressure class.

Simply put: different pipeline grades involve different temperatures, pressures, and pipe materials. The pipeline pressure class is an identifier for pressure pipelines; for more details, see the definition and classification of pressure pipelines – you can search for it online.
