For constant head and reduced head oil and gas pipelines, is it necessary to design expansion joints or other measures to absorb deformation?

Seeing that some units lack expansion joints, what impact does the presence or absence of expansion joints on the oil and gas pipelines at the top of the tower have on the pipelines?
No design is required; the expansion due to low medium temperature is limited. None of the atmospheric and vacuum distillation units I’ve seen are equipped with such a system
It depends. We have expansion joints at the top of this tower; we mainly produce quinoline. It wasn’t added at first, but because the gas phase tube was too long, it damaged the condenser.
Sure enough, the design varies depending on the location; most of the installations I’ve seen have measures in place to absorb expansion. I roughly estimated that the expansion amount of the vertical section is around 30 mm; both ends are basically fixed, which doesn’t seem very secure. Are there any corresponding design specifications?
