The time on each operation station of the Honeywell PKS system is synchronized from the server, but currently one of the operation stations is about 10 minutes behind the server and the other operation stations; as a result, trends and records for the past 10 minutes are not visible on this station. There were issues with this operation station previously, and the system was reinstalled; could it be a problem with some settings?
I’m not sure which time the original poster is referring to; the time displayed on the operator’s screen at the control station is the time on the server, not the time of the computer at the control station itself. At the same time, in general, the source used to synchronize the clock of the operation station should be set to the server (the server must be designated as the clock source). This synchronization is achieved through Windows’ W32Time service; for more details, please refer to the relevant Windows documentation.
We encountered a problem earlier: for some reason, the Windows time on the sever suddenly became 1 hour behind that of the other workstations, resulting in an 1-hour gap in the recorded historical trend data. Later, after consulting Honeywell’s support team, the issue was resolved by simply changing the time on Windows. It has been normal ever since. However, the customer service said that in the future, if there is an opportunity, it won’t be necessary to conduct tests; instead, it will be sufficient to check whether the software for clock synchronization is enabled and what its settings are.
For time synchronization, is it about setting up an NTP server? Check to see if that server is running properly. . . . :lol:lol
After reinstalling the system, it is indeed necessary to set the name of the synchronization server before all computers can be synchronized
May I ask, sir? The time on the PKS client and server computers is synchronized with that of a SERVER. Does this mean that the time displayed on the PKS client operator interface as well as the time on the servers are all the computer’s time, and are all synchronized with the SERVER? Can this time be changed to PLC time synchronization? It seems that a script needs to be written in the operator’s HMI – is that possible? Please give me some advice
It can be set using the NTPconfg software that comes with PSK
Yes, just reconfigure NTP – I just used it just now
