These days, most efforts are focused on producing coke; large coking plants are now using 7-meter coke ovens, whereas before they used 5.5-meter and over 4-meter ovens
Currently, the 5.5-meter ramming and 6-meter top-loading coke ovens are operating stably. Those under 4.3 meters have been gradually phased out. Heating at the upper part of coke ovens with a height of over 6 meters is difficult to address. Secondly, in the case of tamped coke ovens, if the coal cakes are too high, the tamping is not effective and the rate of coal collapse increases.
Currently, the ones that operate more stably are still the top-mounted coke ovens of version 4.3 and the 5.5-meter rammed coke ovens; of course, the 6-meter rammed coke ovens also perform well
Where were your 6-meter ramming coke ovens designed? Was it designed by the Wuhan University of Science and Technology Design Institute?
Well, for 6M ramming, Wukou University has currently set up one unit in Henan Zhonghong.
Compared to top-mounted coke ovens, rammed coke ovens can make use of more weakly bonded coal, resulting in higher output and lower costs; however, they also have disadvantages such as frequent occurrences of coal and coke collapse, numerous factors that affect the production process, a low operating efficiency, and a relatively low temperature coefficient.
The 6-meter ramming coke oven is currently being redesigned and developed by Wuhan University of Science and Technology; our company does not have one yet~~
