Help: Undergraduates entering design institutes

Yeah, it depends on which design firm you end up working for. If that’s not an issue, then you’ll have to rely on campus recruitment; there are few job postings on websites, though they do exist. Usually, these are positions in private companies or foreign firms, while in state-owned enterprises, connections are necessary. CAD knowledge is required, but it’s no problem to learn it on the job.

It depends on what kind of design institute it is; our institute requires candidates to have a bachelor’s degree, and I have a bachelor’s degree. If it’s a larger institute with higher requirements, it becomes a bit difficult for those with only a bachelor’s degree

Well, I’ve only been working for a short time, so let me share some of my experience on this topic. 1. Drawing tools like CAD go without saying – they’re the most basic! Being proficient is enough; don’t keep asking others for help no matter how you draw it, as that’s a bit embarrassing. . . . . A solid foundation in mechanical drawing is essential; one should be clear about various ways of representing diagrams and avoid making fundamental mistakes. 2. You haven’t mentioned what you want to learn well, nor what your major or field of work is. I think that during one’s student years, it’s important to master the core professional knowledge. No matter what industry you end up working in, you should familiarize yourself in advance with the **standards of that industry. What do newcomers who have just joined a design institute do? ? ? It’s just reading books and standards every day~~~~ 3. The further I progress in my studies, the more I realize that I didn’t master the basic knowledge properly back in school. Especially mechanics and things like that: advanced mathematics, material mechanics, finite element analysis, stress analysis. . . . Of course, these are definitely difficult, but you get back as much as you put in. The school offers excellent learning conditions – why not lay a solid foundation? In short, identify your goals clearly and work hard towards them~~~~~ Only through consistent effort in daily life can you have the necessary knowledge to handle job interviews when the time comes. Objectively speaking, it’s difficult for undergraduates to get jobs at design institutes, especially those that are part of large state-owned enterprises; but subjectively, one can change that situation. Opportunities are reserved for those who are prepared. . . . . It is up to humans to make plans, but it depends on fate for them to succeed~~~~ The above are just my personal opinions; I hope they can be helpful to you!
