I would like to consult relevant experts: For a polysilicon project, from a technical and economic perspective, what is generally the most cost-effective scale of construction?
It mainly comes down to cost and cost-effectiveness. It is essentially a process. It can’t be generalized.
The same is true for the improved Siemens method. The domestic technical levels are more or less similar, but the profitability varies.
I would like to ask the experts upstairs: What is the typical production scale of polysilicon plants that have been built or put into operation in China at present?
At present, most of the polysilicon production facilities that are in operation in China have capacities of 1,500 tons per year and 3,000 tons per year. Those under construction or planned to be built generally have a capacity of 5,000 tons per year or more (due to the poor conditions in the industry, most of these projects have been halted or delayed at present).
I would like to ask the experts: What is the approximate investment cost for a polysilicon production facility with a capacity of 5,000 tons per year?
At the current level, it is estimated to be no more than 1 billion
Based on last year’s prices, it’s around 2 billion. It might be a bit lower this year.
I would like to ask the two moderators upstairs: What are the main reasons for the large scale of investment in polysilicon projects? Are the equipment and materials expensive, or is the installation process lengthy with many accompanying projects?

The main investments include cold hydrogenation (the equipment used for cold hydrogenation is made of special materials, resulting in high costs); approximately 200–300 million yuan. Reduction processes (large-scale reduction furnaces are expensive, and the electrical costs are also high); around 200 million yuan. Additionally, there are costs associated with key processes such as distillation and recycling; another 200 million yuan
