What is a regenerative burner? What kind of furnaces are these burners suitable for? Are they suitable for cylindrical furnaces? What are the benefits of this burner for heating furnaces, and how much can it reduce heat loss? Thanks for the advice!
Regenerative combustion is a topic that is quite popular at the moment, but I personally am not in favor of using it as a method for saving energy. Firstly, regenerative combustion increases initial investment and operating costs. At present, the quality of regenerators in China is not very good, requiring frequent cleaning and replacement. Secondly, regenerative combustion will after all result in some of the combustible materials being emitted unburned. I think regenerative combustion solves the problem of using gas fuels with low calorific value. It does have a certain energy-saving effect! As for the cylindrical furnace mentioned by the original poster, I’m not very clear about it!

The heat storage material consists of honeycomb structures and corundum pellets, which can absorb and release heat rapidly; it is used as a heat carrier and can be applied in cylindrical furnaces, such as those used for magnesium refining. The investment required for this material is not high compared to that of heat exchangers, yet it can significantly increase the temperature of gas and air, improve thermal efficiency, and reduce energy consumption. As mentioned on the 2nd floor, some combustible materials are released without being burned; this definitely happens. I have seen cases where the pipeline design is inadequate, or the switching time is too short, resulting in most of the gas being released before it can enter the furnace. As a result, the CO concentration in the factory area is very high, and the furnace fails to reach the desired temperature even after more than a month of use. This can be resolved by reducing the distance between the directional valve and the burner, with the resulting loss being virtually negligible.
I wonder if liquid fuels are used with this regenerative burner?
