As the title suggests: When installing certain transmitters within the device, the display window is placed too close to the inner wall of the protective box, as a result of which the display window cannot be seen. Is such an installation in compliance with the regulations? Is it necessary to make corrections and change direction?
The instrument installation regulations do not specify the requirements for installing the transmitter gas in the protection box. For easier inspection, it is advisable to adjust it; it depends on whether you need it or not.
Logically, it should be installed in a location where it is easy to observe and maintain. The way you installed it isn’t acceptable from a professional perspective; even the craftsmanship is unsatisfactory. It’s not convenient to observe it – all that’s needed is to loosen the fastening screws and rotate it to a position where it can be seen more easily, but be careful with the angle of rotation.
It is best for the gauge face to face the door of the gauge box, so as to facilitate observation. However, this makes wiring less convenient. In many cases here, the gauges are installed on the side. Some transmitter gauge faces can have their orientation changed; at least I know that EJA transmitters have this feature.
When manufacturing the instrument protection box, no consideration was given to the need to view the display screen; or when installing the transmitter, the display head of the transmitter was not adjusted to the correct position.
The transmitter is located inside the instrument box with the gauge faces facing outward (most of the gauge faces can be adjusted), facilitating observation and maintenance. In most transmitters, the wiring cover is located at the back; it is sufficient to make a small opening at the rear of the instrument box to facilitate wiring during installation and to allow easy connection of the operator’s controls during maintenance.
The instrument protection box features a combination of a sight glass, an adjustable window, and a cover. There is also another type in which the cover only has viewports, etc. When I was working at the installation site, I would usually align the display of the transmitter with the viewport of the protection box, which makes it convenient for reading measurements and conducting inspections later on. Some protection boxes are designed very intelligently, making maintenance as well as wiring of the instruments on-site much easier!
How many people go to the site right now to check what the readings on the instruments show? If we don’t wipe the display panels at our workplace, it’s impossible to see what the readings are.
