Under normal conditions, what emergency measures should be taken if the ammonia furnace in an acidic water stripping unit shuts down? Thank you all...
In the acidic water stripping unit of the single-tower pressurized side-line extraction process, ammonia is extracted through the side line. There are usually devices for ammonia recovery, but in some smaller installations, ammonia and H2S are treated by high-temperature combustion. The burners are operated under negative pressure (driven by chimney draft); the temperature in the ammonia burner reaches over 1200 degrees (gas is used as an oxidizing agent when the temperature is insufficient), while the temperature in the H2S burner is around 900 degrees (the exact parameters may have changed over time, so please feel free to point out any errors). If the ammonia burner stops functioning: 1. Quickly shut off the gas and close the valves that allow ammonia to enter the burner. 2. After allowing the burner to ventilate for a while and ensuring that the flammable gas levels are within acceptable limits, ignite it immediately – make sure to light it first before turning on the gas. 3. Once the gas is lit, introduce ammonia, and adjust or turn off the gas flow as necessary. If ignition cannot be achieved after some time, the acidic water should be handled as part of the shutdown procedure: shut off the steam supply to the stripper, increase the amount of cold feed at the top of the tower, and return the purified water from the bottom of the tower to the raw material water tank. Note: Regarding the temperature of the H2S burner, gas is used as an oxidizing agent
