In HG 50235-2010, there is a statement regarding the pressure for withstand tests: \"The test pressure for above-ground steel pipes and non-ferrous metal pipes subjected to internal pressure shall be 1.5 times the design pressure.\" The test pressure for buried steel pipes shall be 1.5 times the design pressure, and shall not be less than 0.4 MPa. ” The difference between this clause and version HG 50235-97 is that the comma before “buried steel pipes” has been replaced by a period. In my understanding, the statement “shall not be less than 0.4 MPa” applies only to buried steel pipes and does not cover “above-ground steel pipes and non-ferrous metal pipes that are subjected to internal pressure.” However, the company’s management believes that the pressure resistance test pressure for all steel pipes subjected to internal pressure must be no less than 0.4 MPa. I was wondering, how does everyone handle this in their work?
The original poster has paid very close attention to the standards; great job! The standard is fine. The leader’s experience is also fine. In fact, for the various pipes encountered in everyday use and in utility systems, such as those for water, steam, instrument air, and nitrogen, the minimum design pressure for these pipes should be 0.6 MPa. The fire water design may be 1.0 MPa. As for process pipelines, the design pressures are all calculated; those that require pressure testing are specified explicitly!
