1. How is the total discharge capacity of the safety valves in the steam pipeline network determined? Under normal circumstances, design institutes consider the following: the total release amount is determined based on the total amount of steam conveyed by the steam pipeline network under rated operating conditions. 2. Generally, two safety valves are installed on the steam pipeline network. How is the discharge capacity of these two safety valves distributed? If a safety valve is used with an excessively large diameter, it is generally necessary to consider using 2 or more safety valves. Under normal circumstances, if there are 2 safety valves, the discharge capacity of each valve is 50% of the total amount of steam delivered by that steam pipeline system.

However, the plant’s steam balance diagram shows different conditions such as winter, summer, accidents, and normal operation; it seems that the design institute did not use the total amount of steam delivered as the total release amount. The set pressure of the two safety valves designed by the design institute differs slightly, and the discharge volume of each valve is also slightly different. I can’t understand it; please explain.
