Regular gasoline contains active sulfides such as thiol compounds, which make it impossible to achieve satisfactory copper sheet corrosion resistance; it must be refined before it can be used as a raw material for further production
The company now requires that, under the existing conditions, the corrosion of gasoline reach level 1 in terms of copper sheet corrosion, and we don’t know how to proceed to achieve this target. :'(
Who knows what the difference is between using lead acetate to test gasoline corrosion and copper sheet corrosion?
Without a desulfurization alcohol unit or alkaline washing equipment, corrosion control will not be satisfactory.
For the straight-run gasoline produced by atmospheric distillation units, it is difficult to achieve satisfactory corrosion resistance (with active sulfur contents such as hydrogen sulfide and thiols at acceptable levels), and further refining is necessary. If, as the original poster says, it is necessary to meet certain standards, then considering the addition of corrosion inhibitors could be an option; for example, using corrosion inhibitors throughout could help ensure that corrosion is under control. Well, though, this approach only provides temporary relief and does not solve the problem fundamentally!
Our factory used to refine gasoline through alkaline washing, but we stopped doing that and now handle it uniformly in the oil processing workshop.
Why is it required that the copper sheets be corroded before the W products leave the factory? Injecting ammonia, water, or corrosion inhibitors is merely a temporary measure to reduce equipment corrosion; if the sulfur content in the raw materials is high and no subsequent measures are taken to reduce it, then using expensive additives brings no benefit in terms of overall efficiency. A sulfur balance for the entire plant can be calculated, making it easy to see at a glance.
