Can fiberglass tanks be used for 98% industrial concentrated sulfuric acid? If possible, which type of fiberglass should be used?
98% refined sulfuric acid: The reactors used for producing sulfuric acid that we supply are all lined with ETFE (F40) material.
Standard material selection for 98% concentrated sulfuric acid storage tanks in industry: ordinary carbon steel, including valves and pipes.
Under no circumstances use fiberglass; it cannot withstand high-concentration sulfuric acid. For acids like 98% sulfuric acid, ordinary carbon steel is sufficient – no lining is needed
