According to Clause 5.5 of JB/T4736-2002, for welded joints where the shell is covered by a reinforcement ring and pipe fittings are connected, these joints must be polished to be level with the base material before the reinforcement ring is installed. The shape of the reinforcement ring should also match that of the unreinforced part of the shell, in order to ensure a tight fit between the reinforcement ring and the shell. ”The following two factors prevent the reinforcement ring from fitting tightly against the shell (although it is theoretically possible for them to fit tightly together): 1. During the equipment manufacturing process, there are deviations in the shaping of the shell and the end caps (these deviations are within acceptable limits). 2. The welded joints covered by the reinforcement ring have misalignment variations. To what extent should the reinforcement ring fit tightly against the shell or head?

It is not easy for the reinforcement ring to fit 100% perfectly. I think it’s sufficient to grind the covered welds smooth, adjust the curvature of the reinforcement ring according to the outer contour of the housing, and ensure there are no gaps during assembly. There are no specific criteria set, so just do your best.
Our company requires a bonding thickness of 2mm; any value exceeding 2mm is considered unacceptable
Referring to 4712.1, the saddle support is 2 mm, and according to 4712.4 the supported support is 1 mm; therefore, it is appropriate that the value be no more than 1 mm.
