There are now chilled water and steam valves, and their calculated CV values are the same; can I use the same control valve for both? The volumetric flow capacity is the same.
If the diameter and CV value are the same, and if the requirements regarding material, pressure, as well as fillers that are suitable for use with chilled water and steam, along with cooling and insulation functions, can all be met, then the same unit can be used! However, I personally find it very difficult to meet the above requirements: one heat source and one cold source! It’s better not to skimp on this money!

Is it the CV value or the KV value for control valves? Their definition is the volume of flow at a certain pressure drop under a standard temperature. As for the two control valves mentioned by the poster, the difference between the process medium and the operating environment temperature is too large; it is impossible to use the same type of valve in practical applications. Because in two environments that are too far apart in terms of being a “heat source” or a “cold source”, the flow capacity also differs greatly!

Don’t mislead the original poster. First, the phases are different; second, the pressure difference before and after the valve is different; third, the materials of the valves are different, and so on. How can it be used in such a situation?
