I recently went to observe low-temperature methanol washing technology. Overall, it seems that the projects developed by Dalian University of Technology are relatively new, and their technology appears to be quite advanced. However, the processes used at the several factories I visited varied slightly from those developed by Dalian University of Technology, indicating that some details are still being refined. There were also issues with methanol being carried away in the exhaust gases, resulting in significant losses of methanol. Linde users seem to be more experienced; it is said that the problem lies with the heat exchanger, and I hope to hear the opinions of other Linde users. PS: There should be many examples of Lind’s advanced capabilities in use; it seems that at Dalian University of Technology such applications are mostly limited to minor uses. There’s also Shanghai International Construction – what are everyone’s thoughts on this? I’d appreciate your insights!
There are also large-scale projects developed by Dalian University of Technology; the low-temperature methanol washing unit for 1 million tons of methanol production at Jiu Tai in Inner Mongolia was designed by Dalian University of Technology. Dalian University of Technology’s technology is also used for the low-temperature methanol washing unit capable of producing 600,000 tons of methanol per year in the new energy sector. The purification technology for 360,000+360,000 tons of methanol at Xinneng Phoenix is also a technology developed by Dalian University of Technology. The New Energy Phoenix performs well; its methanol consumption is very low.
For large-scale installations, the Linde process is recommended; a single series can handle a gas flow rate of up to 500,000 standard cubic meters, mainly due to the comprehensive technical support and relevant documentation available.
I went to New Energy Phoenix; there were some issues with the vehicle’s engine, but things turned out fine later on. They use coiled tubes in their heat exchangers – since when has Dalian University of Technology been using coiled tubes? ?

By exhaust gas containing methanol, do you mean the exhaust gas after being washed in the exhaust gas scrubber, or the exhaust gas at the outlet of the hydrogen sulfide concentration tower? Which unit brought methanol? What’s the reason?

In Liuhua’s plant, the methanol levels at the tops of towers 3 and 6 are too high. In tower 4, the plate where methanol enters the tower is located too close to the gas outlet, which leads to entrainment of methanol; this issue is the most severe here

Yes, Liuhua is from Dalian University of Technology. The person I spoke with mentioned it as the first set from Dalian University of Technology; it might be related to ammonia synthesis. As for what exactly that first set entails, I’m not sure
