The steam coming from the power plant has a temperature of 239°C, a density of 3.7155 kg/m3, and a pressure of 0.75 MPa; however, 0.5 MPa is required for actual use. Is it necessary to reduce the temperature in addition to lowering the pressure? If the temperature is not reduced, will there be any differences in energy consumption during use, and will it affect the pressure during operation? I would appreciate some advice from those with experience in building public pipelines
There’s no need to cool it down, right? If the pressure is reduced using a control valve, it will probably reach the saturation pressure or be slightly superheated. .
What is superheated steam used for? It’s better to explain it clearly to everyone before giving any advice
But the temperature difference here won’t be very large either; saturated steam at 0.5 Mpa is around 200°C, I guess
It’s not that high. . . Saturated steam at 1.0 Mpa (gauge pressure) is only 183°C. . . Saturated steam at 0.5Mpa (gauge pressure) does not exceed 158°C...
I might not have explained it clearly before. At a normal steam pressure of 0.75 MPa, the temperature should be 170°C; the current temperature is 239°C. Since there’s excess superheating energy, isn’t it unnecessary to add water to turn it into saturated steam? Will its use affect the heat exchange efficiency of the heat exchanger?
