There are many safety barriers and relays in the DCS. Which field instruments are they connected to respectively, and what is their function? What is the function of the card inserted in the DCS? What components are generally included in a DCS cabinet? What are their respective functions?
1. The function of a safety barrier is to isolate dangerous signals from the field from the control room, thereby protecting the control room. A relay functions similarly to a switch, enabling on and off operations. 2. The function of the card is to receive, process, and convert the signals from the field instruments, communicate with the DCS, and then communicate with the operation control station (PC industrial computer). (This process is reciprocal.) 3. Components refer to various cards, CPUs, safety barriers, relays, communication devices, and so on.
