My knowledge of the large-scale refining and petrochemical facilities in China is quite limited; I would like to ask everyone: what are the large refining and petrochemical plants that currently exist in China, those that are under construction, and those that are planned to be built? I will categorize and update it; thank you very much! (If there are any discrepancies in the data, please feel free to point them out.) (The data used comes mainly from the official websites of CNPC and Sinopec; given the many new and expanded oil refining facilities being built in China, the data may not be entirely accurate.) Oil refining facilities that have been completed: Huajin Chemical – 5 million tons; China North Industries Group Corporation and CNOOC Huizhou Refining & Chemical – 12 million tons; CNOOC Zhenhai Refining & Chemical – 23 million tons (expanded to 38 million tons); Yanshan Petrochemical – 10 million tons; Fujian Refining & Chemical – 12 million tons; Shanghai Petrochemical – 14 million tons; Qilu Petrochemical – 10.5 million tons; Jinling Petrochemical – 13 million tons; Qingdao Refining & Chemical – 10 million tons; Tianjin Petrochemical – 15.5 million tons; Maoming Petrochemical – 14.5 million tons; Guangzhou Petrochemical – 13.2 million tons; Luoyang Petrochemical – 8 million tons (expanded to 18 million tons); Changling Petrochemical – 8 million tons (the original facility consisted of two units, each with a capacity of 2.5 million tons for oil refining; one of these units was demolished in 2009, and a new unit with a capacity of 8 million tons was built and put into operation, resulting in an current refining capacity of 10.5 million tons.) There will be no further expansion. They belong to war-ready refineries {Thanks to snowmelter for the data}. Takahashi Petrochemical has a processing capacity of 8 million tons; Beihai Petrochemical has 5.5 million tons (with an additional 8 million tons planned through expansion). Yangzi Petrochemical has a capacity of 9 million tons, while Qingdao Petrochemical has 5 million tons. Hainan Petrochemical also has a capacity of 8 million tons. Anqing Petrochemical has 5.5 million tons, while the Jingmen branch has a capacity of 6 million tons. The Jiujiang branch has 5 million tons, the Shijiazhuang branch likewise 5 million tons. Jinan Petrochemical has a capacity of 5 million tons. The Wuhan branch has 8.5 million tons, the Tahe branch 5 million tons, and Zhanjiang Dongxing also has 5 million tons. Dalian Petrochemical has a capacity of 20.5 million tons. Lanzhou Petrochemical has 16 million tons, Fushun Petrochemical 10 million tons, Tianjin Dagang Petrochemical 10 million tons, Jilin Petrochemical 10 million tons, Guangxi Petrochemical 10 million tons, Liaoyang Petrochemical 10 million tons, and North China Petrochemical (Renqiu) also has 10 million tons. Dushanzi Petrochemical has 10 million tons, as does Guangxi Qinzhou. Jinzhou Petrochemical has a capacity of 7 million tons (with plans to expand it to 10 million tons). Daqing Petroleum has a capacity of 6 million tons. Urumqi Petrochemical has 5.5 million tons. Harbin Petrochemical has 5 million tons, while Changqing Petrochemical has 5 million tons. Liaohe Petrochemical also has 5 million tons. Planned projects include Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical with a capacity of 12 million tons, Sinochem Zhoushan with 10 million tons, and Sinochem Taizhou in Zhejiang with 20 million tons. Yunnan Refining (Anning) has a capacity of 10 million tons, Guangdong Jieyang has 20 million tons, Sichuan has 10 million tons, and Sino-Russian Tianjin has 13 million tons. Shangqiu Petrochemical Zone has 10 million tons, while Chongqing Petrochemical (Changshou) also has 10 million tons. Lianyungang has a capacity of 32 million tons. Sinochem Zhanjiang has a capacity of 15 million tons. For reference: CNOOC Petrochemical Co., Ltd. oversees several companies such as Huizhou Petrochemical, Shandong Haihua Petrochemical, Zhajie Petrochemical, Zhoushan Petrochemical, Daxie Petrochemical, and CNOOC Shell Petrochemical Co., Ltd. The exact crude oil processing capacity of these companies is not known. CNOOC Oil & Gas Development Co., Ltd. oversees CNOOC Asphalt Co., Ltd. (3.20 million tons per year), CNOOC Asphalt (Yingkou) Co., Ltd. (1.00 million tons per year), CNOOC Asphalt (Taizhou) Co., Ltd. (2.20 million tons per year), CNOOC Oil & Gas Taizhou Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (1.50 million tons per year), CNOOC Asphalt (Sichuan) Co., Ltd. (0.60 million tons per year), and CNOOC Petroleum Zhanjiang Fuel Oil Co., Ltd. (0.80 million tons per year).
