The oil absorption tank for producing methanol from 200,000 cubic meters of coke oven gas always experiences high resistance! It’s only been a few days since the catalyst was replaced, yet the resistance has gone up again. What could be the reason? Pour the groove now!
Coke oven gas is too dirty; the oil from the compressor gets into it, so it needs to be drained regularly
The main reason is the tar, benzene, and naphthalene contained in coke oven gas; at the same time, a high ammonia content in the gas can also lead to high resistance. We need to minimize these components in coke oven gas by enhancing the discharge of oil and water (we now discharge them every half hour). It is best to carry out pre-treatment before the coke oven gas compressor, to further remove these impurities before they enter the compressor.
It is likely that tar, naphthalene, benzene, etc. were not removed in the earlier stages, causing blockages in the refined desulfurization system. Our factory also used to have serious naphthalene crystallization, which caused the compressors to shut down frequently, and the normal-temperature tanks used for precise desulfurization had to be replaced often.
