I study craftsmanship, but now I need to learn some knowledge about civil engineering. I searched online and got a general idea of the processes, from site preparation to foundation excavation and breaking of pile heads. But after breaking the pile heads, I saw some forum members post information on the basic procedures in civil engineering construction; they said the next step is to deal with the cap slabs and formwork for the foundation beams. What I’m not quite sure about is what exactly these cap slabs and formwork for foundation beams are, what their relationship is with the cap slabs, and what their position is in the drawings. It would be great if someone could tell me their locations. Hehe, my knowledge of civil engineering is quite limited; I hope those who know more can help me out. Thank you!
The formwork for the foundation beam cushion layer refers to the formwork for the 100 mm thick plain concrete cushion layer beneath the foundation beam; there is also a plain concrete cushion layer under the cap, with the foundation beam and the cap being connected together! I’m not sure if you’ll understand if I say it this way!
