Dear sea friends, do your coil heat exchangers have manholes? What is the purpose of these manholes? In which year were your coil heat exchangers designed, and which manufacturer produced them? Are the manholes intended for manufacturing purposes or for operation?

Hand holes are useful. The scaling or accumulated solid coal ash and other particles/powders inside the heat exchanger can be manually removed through the access hole.
In the previously designed coil-type heat exchangers, multiple manholes were provided to facilitate the placement of film during radiographic inspection of adjacent welds; however, the current design specifications call for ultrasonic inspection of these welds, eliminating the need for manholes.
What’s the status of the equipment that everyone has decided on recently? Our company uses open-type winding tubes, which have only one manhole.
