How is the project to produce sec-butyl acetate from C4 after etherification currently progressing? Are there many on it? Who knows the specific process? Thank you all!

Currently, the most common method for synthesizing sec-butyl acetate is through the esterification of butylene with acetic acid. Hunan Zhongchuang was one of the first to work on this project, and it has several large-scale installations. There have been quite a few in private enterprises in recent years. Many design institutes are capable of preparing process packages.

Nanjing Bairun Chemical Co., Ltd. also has a production facility for sec-butyl acetate; the technology used for its production is quite mature, and there are several companies that manufacture this product – more details can be found online. The reaction equation is: Mixed carbon 4 reacts with acetic acid in the presence of a catalyst under certain pressure and temperature conditions
May I ask what specific stages or positions are involved in the entire process?
There are roughly 6 companies producing this product across the country, and they all achieve good profits. One is located in Weifang, Shandong, another in Dezhou; there are also companies in Hunan Zhongchuang and Huizhou
This project was very profitable two years ago; currently its profitability is average, though the market conditions are decent. It would still be a great project if it could completely replace n-butyl ester or open up new market applications. I don’t know which design institutes in China have process packages
Question: What was the approximate investment for the previous sec-butyl acetate project? What is needed in terms of technology?
For a production capacity of 5wt/a, it would cost around 100 million, which is a considerable investment.
