There are generally two methods for embedding anchor bolts in concrete foundations: pre-embedding and embedding through secondary grouting into pre-made holes. So what is the difference between these two methods?
Secondary grouting involves filling the gaps between the equipment base and the foundation surface with fine aggregate concrete or cement slurry, and embedding shims in the concrete to secure them and bear the load of the equipment. The secondary grouting method involves pre-creating holes in the foundation for the anchor bolts when pouring the foundation. During equipment installation, install the anchor bolts in the pre-drilled holes and pour concrete or cement mortar to secure them in place. Its advantage is that the anchor bolts are easy to adjust and facilitate equipment installation. The disadvantage is that the bond between the cast-in-place concrete and the original foundation is not as strong as that achieved with a single pour. The advantage of directly buried foot bolts is that it facilitates the adjustment of the positioning dimensions of the foot bolts without the need to use formwork ; The downside is that it is not stable enough. Therefore, for towers, taller containers, and equipment with significant vibration, direct-embedded foot bolts should be used.
